Working on behalf of RTK Instruments Ltd, the aim of the Chalfont Grove Media Centre project was to install a system with the capability to monitor all supplies and equipment to eliminate failures and improve response times.
The project includes the creation of two new ticket halls at street level – one at Davies Street, the other at Hanover Square. The new satellite ticket hall connects to the existing station via an existing subway.
The St Chad’s and Queensway tunnels closed to all traffic. The closures of the 40-year-old tunnels enabled work on structural modifications, upgrading fire protection and improving the lighting and general appearance to take place.
Whitechapel station is an important interchange for both the Hammersmith & City and District lines and London Overground. As part of the Crossrail project, the station is undergoing a major remodelling to accommodate the new Elizabeth line.
L.B. Foster Telecoms fulfilled an essential role as the main supplier to Laing O’Rourke, carrying out Station Information & Surveillance Systems (SISS) and Building Management System works at Crossrail’s Liverpool Street station.
The new Farringdon station on the Elizabeth line will benefit from new, fully integrated station communications systems installed by L.B. Foster Telecoms.
